The online library aims to compile
digital materials related to Harari
studies across all subject areas
within the Resource Centre of
IHSAN, which includes the
Archives and Museum. The
collection primarily consists of
digital representations of printed
materials, as well as audio-visual
content that explores various
aspects of Harari spiritual,
historical, and cultural life.

The Harari Nerot Foundation
intends to establish collaborative
relationships with similar online
platforms, institutes, and
universities both in Ethiopia and
internationally.

According to its main mission, the
foundation seeks to advocate for
the establishment of a physical
counterpart to the library within
the overall context of IHSAN in
Harar. This involves establishing
the library as part of other
resource centers to ensure they
have a cohesive relationship that
ultimately promotes research and
development, as outlined in the
feasibility study for this project.

Harar is well-positioned to
become a central hub for a future
Institute of Islamic Studies due to
its historical significance and the
wealth of authentic documentary
materials available.

The library in Harar could be
further enhanced with classic and
modern Islamic educational
resources collected by prominent
Harari scholars, such as the late
Sheikh Haj Yusuf Garad.
